The Polychaeta collection of the Museum of Zoology "Prof. Adão José Cardoso" located at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP) has nearly 20 lots with 50 recorded specimens and about 60.000 not recorded yet. The material is preserved in alcohol 70%, and include holotypes and paratypes. There are specimens from several Brazilian regions (mainly Southeast and South). The collection consists of material from recent research projects, such as Fauna de Praia, Biota/FAPESP - Bentos Marinho (www.biota.org.br) e REVIZEE/Score Sul Bentos (www.mma.gov.br/revizee). The cataloging and digitalization of the collection are in progress using the MS-Access data bank manager. Most part of the collection has a scientific purpose, destined to researchers interested in Polychaeta. However, it is available for graduating and post-graduating students. The museum has also collections to borrow, exchange and for educational purpose.
