CPAP Herbarium was founded in 1984 by the researchers Vali Pott and Arnildo Pott. It is part of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation. Is a local herbarium, with vouchers colected in all subdivisions of Pantanal Wetland drainage basin. Is one of the most representative collections of this Biome, with about 25,000 especimens. CPAP also have specimens from Chaco, Cerrado (brazilian savanna), and Deciduous and Semideciduous forests of the no flooded part of Pantanal Wetland.

The Herbarium CPAP data is available for use, since fulfilled the conditions: data utilization will be allowed with only the permission writed by Herbarium CPAP curator; the name ''Embrapa Pantanal'' must be in acknowledgments of any publications of Herbarium CPAP data; the indication of the provenance of original data must be cited on the papers; data, even partially, can not be redistributed without autorization signed by CPAP curator. A copy of any publication where CPAP data are cited must be sent to the curator by email or letter. Researchers and Institutions are responsible by adequated use of CPAP data. CPAP curator does not ensure identification accuracy of specimens and associated data.
