The collection of Triatominae began in 1996, from the donation from the private collection of Dr. Hélio Espinola, this started
in 1973. Today is the depository of 4340 specimens of 57 species from different populations of triatomines from Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia,
Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, United States of America, Uruguay and Venezuela, and about 100 other specimens of Heteroptera in Brazil . In addition, shares are
held about five hundred bugs. Besides the purpose of serving as a reference in triatomines, the insects are also used in studies of taxonomy and
